Hello, I'm doing a little research on Henning Nickels. Does anyone know which year of the Red Book was the first to mention that 1944 nickels without a mintmark as being counterfeit? Thanks very much.

It appears it is either 1960 or 1961. Below are the pages from 12th edition (1959) and 14th edition (1961) with an * by 1944 P and notation at the bottom of the page. I don't have a 13th edition (1960) but narrowed it and someone else should have one.

Here are the pages for Jeffersons from the 12th and 13th editions, 1959 (published in 1958) and 1960 (published in 1959). The 13th edition is where the 1944 counterfeits are first mentioned.
Thanks so much for your replies and the photos lilolme and cocoinut!!! You guys are great.
Does any grading service slab these with the proper notation "Henning Counterfeit"?

ICG does.
Here's a photo of a slabbed Henning I found on ebay.
