For those 2 coins I probably would never come back to the dark side even ''just'' for the 1804 dollar. Retirement money right there and then some.

Dimitri... whatever you do, don't take another look at the picture. Looks as if someone has some explaining to do at his next visit to Brooks Brothers. And don't think that the coins will help this time...

Sadly I regret to inform you that your Brooks Brothers Card has been revoked...

Neither truly look like 10's although one of the 2 is nicer. I would not buy any sports card for that price except a Babe Ruth rookie 1914 Baltimore News or his 1916 M-105 or M-104.

The inverted Jenny is pretty cool I must say. In Canada it would be the 12d been the most expensive of our stamps.

Will that be cash or check?

Believed it sold 10 years ago for a little over 450k. Not bad at all I would say.

According to a few pundits, the same return as some bluechip stocks.

Anyone that made that type of return did well but will have to pay capital gains taxes. But would have to do the same on stocks so not much difference.

The only time I could have afforded that card would have been back in 1914.

I think your collection is way cooler and much more interesting than those 2 US coins yes they are worth millions in that sens it would be worth trading for but you would be extremely hard pressed to re build your current collection even with all that extra money in hand. I know the extra money would be retirement money and I know all this is just a fun possible idea nothing else.

Money wise you have most likely done extremely well since you got in early buying top grades. And I only see Mexican coins going up in value over time with so many Mexicans now living in the US and more and more coming in to the USA.

The 1804 dollar can be had if one has money. Somebody would sell if they make a descent profit is my guess. Maybe not all owners but at least one or a few out there would. As for the gold coin I believe that only 3 are known so would be harder to find a seller to pry it out of his collection (could be possible but not likely). The 1804 is five times more common with 15 examples known.

I don't like comparing hockey and baseball cards to coins and other collectibles - they're their own markets and don't overlap much. The king is art collecting. By the way, didn't you abandon coins for hockey cards a couple weeks ago, isn't there a hockey card forum somewhere?

No more answers about sports cards in this topic or any other topic for that matter in coin forums. I don't collect them so that is that I decided to stick with Latin American coins end of story.

No more from me I will NOT disrespect Bidask any further.
