Just how many sticker do we need.
And just how many nice graded coins have NEVER been submitted to a sticker company!

None of the coins I’ve submitted myself for grading, as well as the slabbed coins I purchased 15 years ago and older before Stickering was a thing have ever been submitted to a sticker company.

If you bought a nice coin a number of years ago, not only should you send it in for a review (to keep the same holder if it doesn't upgrade) but if they're still doing them, send it for a sticker as well. I go through one of the major auction houses to do this, though don't do this often.

You need as wide an audience as possible for your coin and some people have been brainwashed that if a coin doesn't have a sticker, it's a problem coin.

I can’t see more than one really necessary if one in sticker game. In rare instances where I see more than one on the slab it makes me wonder if the owners elevator goes to the top lol. Plus it makes the slab look kinda crummy. If I don’t like the coin I don’t I bid / make an offer on it anyway.

I’d say about 95% of my walkers were obtained 10-15 years ago and are in older holders and have never been to the sticker factory. I think a large percentage would pass.

Sophisticated buyers will know what's what.

    Will they? ;)

If you believe that stickered Walkers tend to sell for more than non-stickered Walkers, why wait? At some point, it's likely that you or your heirs will sell those coins. Your heirs may or may not proceed the right way to maximize value upon a sale. At a minimum, by getting them stickered now (we don't know if CAC will be be stickering coins a decade from now), it'll be easier down the road to receive fair value when sold.

No stickers are necessary if you enjoy your coins without stickers.

I imagine that a large but likely to remain unknown number of nice graded coins have not been submitted to CAC. As noted, it probably depends on the price point. My guess is that most graded coins in the series I collect have been to CAC with the possible exception of the common post 1895 issues.

There is no point in arguing the pros and cons of CAC yet again; opinions are not likely to be changed.

I agree that while opinions won't be changed, those that choose to not get their coins stickered may end up having them sold at some point without stickers. That could be leaving some money on the table. Some collectors don't care about that, some do. Some collectors may not want to face the fact that possibly some/many of their coins won't sticker. Others truly don't care.
