This could be VERY interesting...

eMail from the US Mint.

Treasures Await in the United States Mint Vault Sale on Cyber Monday
We’ve dug deep in our inventory to offer you some of our most endearing coins as part of our United States Mint Vault Sale on Cyber Monday.

As one of the largest Mints in the world, even our most popular coins and medals sometimes have a few returns and order cancellations. Sometimes packages are undeliverable and sometimes collectors change their minds, both of which mean that you have a new opportunity to collect popular coins!

If you purchased one of these coins in the past, you’ll have to wait. To ensure fairness, a strict household order limit of one per household will be in force for the first 24 hours of our Vault Sale. We will also deploy our virtual waiting room to provide a smooth shopping experience. Even though inventory is limited for these in-demand products, they will be sold at regular prices.

Don’t miss the United States Mint Vault Sale happening on Cyber Monday. Mark your calendar and set your alarm: the Cyber Monday Sale starts tomorrow, November 27th at 12:00 p.m. EST.*

Shop with confidence. All coins have been examined and evaluated prior to this sale to ensure they meet the strict quality standards of the United States Mint, the Nation’s official manufacturer of legal tender coinage.

I received that email earlier and when I clicked on the "Get Access" tab the page came up that stated:

    "Products Found (0)"

Maybe have to wait until tomorrow at noon?

That is awesome. Upon checking my inbox I got the email as well.

Has the Mint ever done this before? If not, I think it is a really smart marketing campaign.

    Kudos to the Mint!

I wonder how far back in the vault they will go? just leftovers or some really outstanding Items that were returned, guess we will just have to wait and see!

I received the email, also. But it's completely inscrutable--I have no idea what they will be selling.

Back in 2008 there was something kind of similar with their "last chance sale"

So would "even our most popular coins and medals sometimes have a few returns" include items returned for problems; e.g. stains, spots, etc.?

I'm guessing someone is hoping to buy a 2019-S ERP ASE for the original price of $66.50 or whatever it was?

I understand what you are saying, but the US Mint's standards and mine may not be the same. The logical assumption is that the majority of this offering is from returns, etc. Why these coins were returned and exactly what the problem is remains to be seen.

That and one other product James was dead set on getting directly from the mint even after @Bullsitter gave him a heads up for a secondary market purchase.

Maybe a 64 Peace dollar may show itself. :)

If they find a J-1776 in the back of the vault, I got dibs on it. ;)

I laughed when I opened the email yesterday. Six years later and the 2017 American Liberty Gold is still available. Laura would call the rest “dreck”.

I hope that's not the same quality used for some of the recent RP's!

Nothing quite like a waiting room for I-don't-know-what!

At 9am, estimated wait time is 37 minutes; I don't care that much.

We're sorry, no products were found for your search:

Try your search again using these tips:

Double check the spelling. Try varying the spelling.
Limit the search to one or two words.
Be less specific in your wording. Sometimes a more general term will lead you to the similar products.

Glad I waited in the waiting room for the above statement lol.

I think this was all just hype to get you to their site and buy stuff. I got in right at 11:00 on the dot and I got the above message as well. No products

  • Assuming IT errors? just says no products found.

So, who got in and got the 1933 Saints and 1907 UHRs that had been sitting in the vault for a century at issue price?? Whatever was there sure sold out fast.
