A thick crust cherry treat for Thanksgiving.

I received this coin today and gave it a 10-minute soak in acetone. There was no color change on either side except it did expose a few scratches and hairlines. The color on the wings didn't change at all. I suspect that has reacted with the surface and is permanent unless conserved. However, I don't see any signs of corrosion or etching and it has a 'hard-looking' patina. It's more properly described as a smooth stain on the coin.
Conservation may ruin the original look of the coin as is, which is its best feature along with the sharp EDS overdate. Look at the toning on the drapery and the upper feathers of the eagle's wings! Some coins talk to you. This coin snapped me out of a stupor and had me scrambling to checking photos before it could get away because it was a BIN or BO for $48.
Three great coins in one week for me! Plus, Northwestern beat Illinois 45-43! I hope y'all are having as great a Thanksgiving weekend as I am!
Nice pickup!
What are the two other coins you get this week? I read you had a "monster" coming in.
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
