Post a coin with an aviation theme. I was in the aviation side of the Navy and served on 3 different aircraft carriers and grew to like all the diferent airplanes. Here are a few of my coins with an aviation theme.
The small cameos are 24K gold & the coins are 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper

Never seen these before. Cool.
Very rare Mexico 5 Peso pattern. Three known in private hands.
From the celebration of the final 747 delivery earlier this year
I know you're an aviation person. I love relic medals of all kinds. Nice piece.
What gave it away?
This is a political token for FDR in 1932, not a coin.

Thank you!
I think it is supposed to be a dirigible, like the Hindenburg that blew up in Lindhurst, New Jersey.
LZ-126 was constructed in Friedrichshaven Germany in 1924 and was intended to be flown to the United States as a war reparations prize that year. Dr Hugo Eckener was in command of the programme to construct and deliver the airship to the United States in Lakehurst New Jersey. The LZ-126 was renamed the USS Los Angeles and accepted by the US Navy as a prototype for a lighter than air aircraft carrying airship. The USS Los Angeles was used for other purposes such as observation of naval maneuvers etc but was struck from the navy list in 1939 and dismantled in 1940.
The German manufactured airship - designed for hydrogen but using helium like the US airships was the only one of the US Navy airships to not be destroyed in an accident - the other three airships built in the USA - The Shenandoah, the USS Akron and the USS Macon were all lost in accidents.

Bought this for my father inlaw years ago because he was a pilot and flew and kept his license current for over 50 years up to his passing. For pilots on here he was designated ATPI. His last plane was a piper warrior geared up for IFR. We miss him. My mother inlaw regifted it back to me today.

I guess space is also considered aviation.
