Offering two very scarce half dimes for sale. The 1838-O has XF, if not AU details, but is corroded. Still very difficult to find at this level of detail. An NGC XF-deets ex-mounted sold for $653 on Ebay recently, XF-40 greysheet is $2680.
The 1840-O is a V-6, a scarce variety in which the obverse intended to be used on With Drapery half dimes was used with a No Drapery obverse. This variety is identifiable by open reverse wreath buds (hard to see at this level of wear) and there being only three leaves on the left side on the wreath instead of four. The weak date is characteristic of this variety.
Asking $275 for the 1838-O, $185 for the 1840-O, or $430 for both.
