Can I send you message there just to talk about "nit fudge on your quarts of ice cream"? ;):D

    Happy Saturday Mark!

    GE Mark,
do you have the ability to screen a coin in other auctions by chance?
    Thanks

    No, he works for Heritage.

Edit to add: you can contact GC to give you a video of the coin.

I don't know you time constraints but there is a coin in my wantlist I am very curious about.
The coin is an 1878 PCGS AU-50 Seated Half dollar. The auction it is suppose to appear in is the Tuesday Night auction for November 21-22.
The piece has been dipped and has now retoned some. The picture shows a slightly dark coin with reddish accents. How light or dark is this coin in hand? How much residual luster does it possess? Last, does the lack of hair detail look like wear or strike? Any information appreciated James.

I had a brief (nice) email exchange with Mark this morning, and learned the true nature of this thread.

I had been poking fun at him about not responding to my comment above (which was an inside joke anyway).

Mark was trying to convince people who regularly use his gracious offer to look at coins for them, to ask prior to Thanksgiving if possible, as he has some family matters to attend to shortly thereafter, which may extend through almost Christmas this year.

I think he also hoped that most or all of those messages would be be directed to his email at Heritage.

Thanks, pursutofliberty. You saved me bothering Mark, who I do impose on too often when I see a Heritage lot I am interested in. Mark really is a great resource - a pair of eyes that I trust.
