Thanks for the guesses everyone. If I were to grade the two coins, I would say VF25 and VF 35. The 1861-S guesses ranged from F15 to VF25, and the 1868 from VF25 to XF40.
I'm amazed how grading opinions can vary so widely. What's most surprising is that both coins are CAC approved. The consensus is that the 1861-S is over graded, and the 1868 is accurately graded or slightly under graded.
Cross that NGC 1861 S to CACG. A VF35 CACG would be worth $$$$ in a CACG holder. You are an NGC Legacy crossover so you can't lose...unless JA won't cross it...then he will buy it from you.

VF25 and VF35
I’m adding my 61-S so I can compare the final results.

I'm late seeing these but I agree with the consensus that the 1861-S is overgraded and the 1868 is somewhat undergraded.
The 1868 should get a CMQ sticker for sure. All denticles present, most feathers present and detailed, fairly clear unmarred original surfaces.
Yes, the coins should trade grades.

Sorry I missed this initially. I would have guessed 25 and 40. 35 makes sense also on the 68 due to the flatness on the obv.
I was 15-20 and 30 IMHO
