All minor Varieties do not register as the Major Variety does.
The variety is so minute as compared to a regular Major DDO.
Usually, it takes extreme magnification to see the Variety.
It will be listed as regular coin struck for that year.
    Hope this helps.

What you have is a slab that someone (paid) PCGS to designate and print minor variety on the label even thou it is not as Wayne said, a Major variety designated in published books like the Cherry Pickers Guide and thus recognized by PCGS. If by chance that coin is listed in the CPG AND recognized by PCGS AND is a coin listed in a registry set you can resubmit it and have (for a fee of course) the variety designated with the correct FS # and it can then be activated in that variety slot.

There are a number of these Minor Variety slabs in all series floating around. But you have to do your homework ahead of time to know what your buying. Plus PCGS would designate a coin a minor variety despite the fact there could be more than one for the same year like a 1941 DDO Lincoln cent.

Pcgs does not list this coin as a “minor variety double die “ under its certification #.
When you look up the certification number it will only list it as a regular minted coin even though it is a minor double die.
There are now postings in this forum that Pcgs is now not listing future minor varieties on its labels. People are a little miffed that you had to pay extra for the label to state that it is a minor variety. People also have paid extra premiums to buy a coin that listed it as so.
In my observation only , there are many more of these coins going up for auction now before the price drops to the level of a regular minted coin sharing the same grade.

The cherry pickers guide is the culprit here as they are removing previous listed minors from their guide of which Pcgs is now following.

Edited the grammatical error "there" to "their".

    Wow!
    Same cert# and different listings.
I used Pcgs’s Cert Verification app on my cell phone.
I wonder if it could be a newer listing versus an older listing.
Either way, thanks @MetroD for pointing that out.

Interesting. Thanks for posting the screenshot.

It appears that the web version displays the "minor variety" info, while the app displays the "mintage".
