Stumbled on this coin at today’s PNNA in Tukwilla Washington

It’s missing the A in “GA”

How common or not is that ?

It’s a rare date anyway .

Nice! I’ve seen “Go” missing the “o” but never “Ga”. But this is clearly Guadalajara from the assayer.

Lots of varieties in the minors.

congrats... a benefit to casting the big net. What are the odds of finding a better example?

    Well played.

Wow! I trust you bought it. I don't see how you could buy a better one. Can you post a picture of the reverse?

I went and saw the coin on ngc, the images there does not do any justice nor show better detail, as the photo above.

Only two coins have been graded the VF-20 & this one MS65 on NGC - none at PCGS.

Nothing noted in this book, which you should probably have given your interest. Very hard to find.

The backstory on this is the dealer who I bought this coin from had mostly unslabbed coins both US and Foreign , some silver bars ...nothing really special ....except this coin ....you never know and yes when your at a coin show . ...there is a benefit to casting a big net.

    Wow.

The book isn’t like Dungian&Parker with each individual issue discussed. Rather is covers groups eg, Mexico City 1Rs from 1826-1834 as a design type. Notes the rarities of each date and major varieties along with tips for collecting. Nothing noted on this variety.

Oh yes, that's The one. A pleasure to own. Bravo! So what if it's not an 8R. I prefer to buy coins I like, not to try to complete a set.

On one of my previous posts did not added this info:

They sold the other coin in VF-20 condition without noted the 'G' without 'a' Variety.

Becaus it is not listed anywhere, as others have already mentioned too...
