People can collect whatever they like and spend their money however they like. I haven't spent >$50k on a coin but I have a few coins that are pretty expensive for most people. And unless things go sideways in life I could see myself spending that much on a coin in the not too distant future.
That being said, the idea of spending that kind of money on a coin with populations in the tens of thousands and dozens or even hundreds in that grade holds absolutely no appeal for me.

Not a chance, but I’m pretty biased since I have no desire to collect Morgan dollars. Unless, of course, they look like @Floridafacelifter’s Morgan dollars

And btw I follow you and love your knowledge and insight / I’m just messing with you… I know you’re just kidding and making a point.
It’s all good man - always appreciate you
500 G’s stands for 500 Grand which means 500,000 dollars
Thank you. That's what I took it to stand for, but glancing at the 12 coins made me wonder if it somehow represented a much lower number. How did you choose $500,000?

Yes but there are 12 coins, sir.
Which works out to over $40k per coin. I don't think any of those are worth close to that number.
I took the PCGS price guide for the PCGS coins (and substituted an actual auction result of one of the coins) and used reasonable sold data for the NGC values. I came up with a total value for the 12 coins of:

Barring a good explanation, based on the pictured coins, the thread title appears sloppy/haphazard.
Or just more of the usual clickbait.
Although I would like to know why he added a zero to the end of the actual value. I'm pretty sure no one is going to say yes to paying 10x guide on those coins.
Ok then 50Gs is better.
Sorry I was MIA for a bit on this, as I was out of town and off line much of the time.
Yes the dealer made the comment tongue and cheek - I thought it was on the high side myself but some of them are good examples. He may have meant the whole case but the 12 in the middle were among the best.
Happy Friday to all

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
500 G’s stands for 500 Grand which means 500,000 dollars
Then they must be worthless - no cac sticker then no deal!!
Is that what we want? Some dude at cac to determine if coins look good or not?

Hard no!
YES!

In the old gangster movies it was always 50G's etc. Somehow 50k does not have the same ring to it.
Yes, that makes sense. I wonder where or when k came into play. I'll take a look later and see what I can find

These 12 coins in the middle - would you pay 500G’s?
Did someone say they were worth $500,000?
