Heart breaking news. RIP.
RIP
Damn this is horrible news. Wake was my son's favorite player growing up and the only card/autograph collecting I could ever get him into was for Tim Wakefield cards.
The Red Sox family lost a good one. RIP

Very sad. Difficult to hear. RIP.
Only 57 years old.
RIP
really terrible. but even more terrible is his wife currently suffering from pancreatic cancer, in which there is never a good prognosis. i can't even imagine the amount of heartbreak for family and friends.
yet another in a long list of reminders of why you should never sweat the small stuff in life, ever
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
RIP
Thoughts go out to the Wakefield family and his loyal fans.
RIP
I remember Of Tim being such a great teammate. He was always willing to do whatever the manager asked of him to help the Sox win. I remember for about 3-4 years, the Sox used him in every way imaginable. in relief, spot starter, whenever he was needed. It must have been hard on him, not being able to get into a routine, which is so important for a pitcher.
I do not remember of him ever complaining during these years.
Tim Wakefield, a great teammate.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Awful
Tragic news
He was one of the great ones for sure and his number should be considered for retirement.
RIP
RIP! Prayers for his family as they are still facing his wife's illness.
So very sad about one of everyone’s favorite players. I think we all remember the time he pitched all those innings to help a tired pitching staff. I’m sure he was an incredible team mate.
Pancreatitis has no cure I believe so this is a heartbreaking story.
God love them both.
