Is this 1883 Carson City Morgan Genuine or a counterfeit?

Looking at the coin, it has the indicative hit on the upper left of the eagles breast on the reverse. Surfaces could be from a cleaning, but other than that, I don't see anything screaming at me this is a fake. More experienced collectors, could you weigh in with your opinions and indicators?

Im leaning towards authentic, but it looks like it was whizzed or severely processed at the least. Photos are out of focus but sellers feedback and other items look ok.

Definitely has indications of cleaning and/or polishing. But nothing screams fake to me either.

The coin looks counterfeit to me.

one more vote for counterfeit
Not only do the surfaces look all wrong (which, granted, could be in part due to some type of cleaning), but they look smooth in a very odd way, and the design feels off and makes me think of the 1921 redesign just a bit. I vote counterfeit.
Definitely counterfeit. Looks like the modern junk coming out of China.

Counterfeit![:/ :/](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
I see very suspicious, pebbly surfaces and mushy devices which has me voting counterfeit.
Chinese fake, mushy details, reverse rim problems. Obverse left of date rim issues.

vegas, baby!
Pretty decent example of a bad coin; anyone try to attribute the VAM?
