Good afternoon everyone, have not been on as much of late as I moved from Louisiana to DFW area a little over a month ago. Last weekend i went to the Dallas card show and found one of the cards I needed for my Topps Bob Gibson run (much to my surprise) so I made a deal for a nice 69 in PSA 8 and that led me to get the clincher the 75.
So what is a thread without scans so here are all pictured together

Great pitcher, doesn't get mentioned here often, but one of the all time greats.
I saw him interviewed about his hitting batters, he said "the inside half of the plate belongs to me, so the batters are hitting themselves" you go Bob!
Beautiful run - any favorites? That image on the 66 is great.

The 68. Mainly because the card looks perfect, the 61 and 66 after that
That’s awesome!
I’ve slowly started putting together his run because he’s my favorite pitcher of AT.
His cards are criminally undervalued which I don’t understand at all. I also don’t understand why he didn’t have more action photos on his cards except for that terrible 71. Just a shame.
I always loved the 64 & 65.
I was going to say the same.
Pretty unimaginative effort by Topps.
Seems Topps doesn't like some players and then use unflattering pics.
Love the '61 pic but hate the '63...jk.
(Lazy Topps)
I love seeing a run where the player remained on the same team his entire career.
Love the way the 75 pops.
Nice run! Always wanted to do something like that with Steve Carlton, by Hall Of Fame Football always gets in the way financially.
I like the 62 (high end-looks beautiful) and 65.
Congratulations; great set of a great pitcher.
Maybe it's just me, but the cards that show Gibson smiling just seem "off". The picture on the '61/'63 cards shows Gibson as I remember him; not angry, but right on the edge of angry ("you wouldn't like me when I'm angry").
That is a great Gibson run! Congrats on the collection.
Man, that's outstanding, well done! The 1960 Gibson has always been a favorite of mine.
You are a great collector.
You have a great eye.
Congratulations!

Love the vintage! Beautiful collection!
That’s a nice run
very nice run. I love Hoot and think he is definitely under appreciated. A fantastic pitcher.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Wow!
Congratulations Mike.
I always meant to pick up his RC but never did and now it's out of my budget range.
When I was stationed in St Louis, I went with a friend to pick up his car at the dealership and while waiting, Gibson pulled up behind us in a vintage Mercedes with a "Gibson" plate.
I didn't want to bother him for a sig, so I just said: "nice car." He said thanx. And that was it. Still nice to see a big star like that (was around 1987).
Great project and congrats on completion!!! Love looking at player runs from the 60's and 70's.
As a pre-teen collector in the 80’s, I went to a local card shop and bought my first vintage card - a 68 Bob Gibson. It felt like it was from another planet.
This run is cool. Great player and some great cards.
Agreed, except the Rookie card, it doesn't seem off.
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
Thanks everybody. I really enjoyed doing it. I got the nicest copies I could afford/find. Got lucky a few times along the way. Only true vintage baseball run I have done. Nolan/Reggie/Brett all have so many junk eta cards. With Gibson they are all winners.
Great looking set of Gibson cards. I love the uniformity in the grades.
Thanks for sharing your set.

No one ever pulled off the wind-breaker-under-the-jersey quite like Bob.
Nice set.
