I'm thinking of submitting these gold coins hoping for a CMQ or two:
there doesn’t seem to be any reliable information on any of these gold CMQ coins bringing a substantial higher market price so what is the point
I agree that if anything, gold coins that merit CAC stickers probably have a greater chance of having an increased market value, especially since CAC is tough on gold coins, presumably due to “surface treatments” unacceptable to CAC but acceptable to PCGS and NGC.
But if I were consigning coins to a Stacks auction, whether the coins had CAC stickers or not, I would make the consignment of each coin contingent upon if the coin got a CMQ sticker or not. Unlike submitting a coin to CAC where there are costs and slight risks of round trip shipping, along with the extra time of round trip shipping, once Stacks has the coins in hand, those three disadvantages don’t apply to CMQ stickering, since they just bring the coins down the “Hall” (lol). Because of that ease and low cost of applying for CMQ’s once Stacks has the coins anyway, as a potential buyer of a Stacks lot, I’d be concerned if the coin I wanted to bid on did NOT have a CMQ!
Steve
I am wondering if the lack of a CMQ sticker matters that much as you Steve have said yourself that you don’t hold much regard for the value of their opinion
The more the merrier as long as it has a CAC.
HOWEVER, in all seriousness, CAC is known for stickering some coins that don't appear to be eye appealing. I wonder if those coins would be rejected by CMQ?
I've submitted CAC coins to CMQ that did not sticker but I can only guess why. I think CAC is a more technical evaluation whereas if it has a CMQ sticker, my interpretation is that if you bought a CMQ coin site unseen 99% of collectors would be happy with it when it arrived. To me that means they would probably not sticker a coin with any issue that a collector might have with it.

Correct, it matters just a little bit, but not much to me.

@StacksBowersGalleries, Just curious what the braintrust at StacksBowers has been doing to promote this new CMQ service if anything? I don't see full page ads for CMQ in the hobby publications nor any type of attractive promotional offers to entice new business nor have I seen CMQ set up at major shows handing out flyers or samples or coupons or anything else. You have one of the most well known names in the industry and founding member and past head of PCGS involved here and don't seem to be putting any effort at all into this new endeavor.
Your hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need it.
While not totally OT, but certainly tangential, are there any dealers that will do CAC stickering submissions for remote customers (I don't live near any dealers that do CAC sticker submissions)? I really like that CMQ accepts submissions from everyone, I don't see the value compared to CAC stickers at this time.

While I don't know specific dealer names for this, since I am a Collector Submitter, I'm sure there are PLENTY of dealers who for a modest fee will submit coins to CAC stickering and/or CACG Grading for you. To keep your costs reasonable, since you have to cover shipping to and from the dealer, don't have only one or two coins submitted, but "a bunch". Additionally, work with the dealer to have YOUR coins only part of his larger submission, so that you don't have to pay the full amount of HIS round-trip shipping to and from CAC or CACG.
Hopefully you've bought some coins from a dealer that you can call and ask.
Good luck.

You can piggyback through me via my personal account if you'd like. You should be forewarned that CAC will ship the coins back to me after stickering, and I'll have to forward them along to you once I get them and the payment for the fees/next round of shipping. Private message me if you want to talk about it.

I'm very disappointed at the crickets and lack of promotion from them.

FYI, You can put a different return shipping address on the submission form and they will ship it wherever and to whoever you want. Coinbuf did this for me a few times in the past until I got my membership. You just have to work out the payment.

They have always shipped it back to me anyway. Granted, last time I tried was probably 5-6 years ago. At any rate, it makes sure I get paid the fees and don't get left hanging.

I'd be ECSTATIC if they would support Collective Coin, the ABSOLUTE simplest way to track a collection!

Even before I clicked on this post, I knew it was going to be about yet another stickering service.

Here we are a year later. Seems like this died on the vine.
MyCollect also.
They are accepting submissions at the Stack’s table at the Tampa show this week. I’m dropping one off tomorrow.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
It's the Hallmark slab of stickering services.
My thinking is it's too much like FB. You can't just pick a thread instead the whole thing is one discombobulated thread.
Did I spell that right, wow.
I thought they would promote it a bit more than they did.
A “bit” more?

They need to partner with ANACS and come up with "Grifbox" online breaks.
