I'm trying out a new light box a family member gave me... I'm not happy with initial results it looks dipped out on the reverse without any luster coming through the images.
This is just a simple white ring of LED lights pointed straight down on the surface.
I'm not convinced it's original surfaces by any means but it is much more attractive in hand.
Oh yeah... and it has a BIG FAT scratch on the reverse.

Surfaces look okay ... well except to that reverse carving! ... but you're right, the image is pretty tough. Makes it looks washed out much more than I suspect it is

I like the obverse!
Other than the scratch I like the look.
Just a nice EF circulated half, I'd assume the scratch looks much worse in this image versus in hand?
I appreciate the feedback. I ditched the light box and went back to my old standby... 2 lights angled right about lens length from the coin. The luster is more apparent for sure but that scratch really pops. What a shame...

Just for fun... Here's a 2.5 gold piece I shot both with and without the light box.

Wow really nice coins
The half appears to have an old dip, but its attractive. Pretty 2 1/2. Both coins have nice strikes!
