I have 3 high end cards in old holders that I would like to send in for reviews. Worst case, none bump....but would they all be placed in new holders when they get returned?...or would they simply get returned "as is" in their current, old holders?....thanks for any help.

I would probably just re-holder them as that is becoming pretty similar to a bump (at least in value).
And if you feel strongly, go for it! As for opinions, seeing the cards would help us all better inform you.
I believe with the current application of grading standards that a card in an old flip bumping to a new higher grade are pretty low, though obviously not impossible.
Good luck!

I understand...and agree, a long shot at best...My original question remains, however...
If they do not bump, they get returned in original holders. The grader also spits on the slab and yells, "NOT WORTHY!"
Just kidding about the 2nd part.

edit: apparently based on the next few replies, things have changed and they are returned in new holders even if they do not bump. This was not the case just a couple years ago -- sorry for the misinformation.
Since we aren't talking a crossover and they stand by the original grade, how can they do a full review if the card is still in the holder. I know it says the following : "There's no risk of losing your original labeling and grade if your trading card does not upgrade." But are they referring to the content of the original labeling, or the actual original label? Like why would someone be worried about getting the older label back, especially as you get a newer label with a bump? I would think that you could request a new flip in the notes if it does not bump since you have already paid way more than just a re-holder fee.
I always write directly on the sub please reholder all regardless of bump in grade. Always has worked for me
I just did a 42 card review sub. 7 cards bumped but I also noticed that the cards in very old flips were returned to me in the new holders. That was a surprise to me.

All of them? It's entirely possible they had to crack some cards out to see why they really were, say, a 5, which, by the way, they can't do with crossovers simply because they don't have the ability to put the card back in a GEM holder.
