as the NFL season approaches, anyone else feeling apathetic?

it's a strange sensation. can't remember the last time i felt this way. perhaps it'll change once the season kicks off and i start losing my ass winning money on games. but as of now, next to no enthusiasm. i even predict a move in the right direction for Justin Fields and my Bears, yet i still feel nothing. could be a byproduct of being firmly entrenched in the 50s club, idk. when i was a kid, my world hinged on whether or not the Bears won that week. now, not so much. aimless rant ovah.

Not me, I'm extremely excited for NFL, as a whole not just for my Pats because obviously they will not be all that good this season but it livens up this place, but mostly I thoroughly enjoy the get togethers with my buddies and the drunken escapades throwing money around like its cool on games, prop.bets and all the chit chat at work how we all.got burned by something stupid come Monday AM at work.

It's a fun time of year, I love it.

We usually get together at my house on Sundays for the 1 o'clock games, eat and drink then hit the casino which is 3 miles away from my house and watch the 4 o'clock games at the bar there then the nite cap for the second d half of the 8pm game at my place again.

    Fun times

I'm personally excited, looking forward to this time of year, but I hear what you're saying, it feels weird around here. Maybe a couple of reasons for this, Darin hasn't been on the forum in months, and of course Hydrant got banned. Those two were usually a big part of the football talk around here, Darin with his Chiefs and Hydrant with the Rams.

I'm looking forward to the Jets season, I always love critiquing Aaron Rodgers every move, I'm going to be all over him like a cheap suit this year. That's right Rodgers, I'm your Huckleberry.

i think there's some merit to this. those two guys were integral in their own special ways, and this season won't be the same without them.

and i can safely say that if this is what my Sundays consisted of, there would be zero apathy lol

Well the Gaurdians sucked bad this year so nothing else to do except look forward to the Browns season opener.

Not me. Can't wait!!! I have been following the pre season very closely and tuning into as many games as possible. Games on tonight, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. I am one happy camper!!! Next the NHL will start as well so every night there will be some action on TV that I care about.

Gonna be great making my foods and snacks for watching sports!!! I love Summer but the Fall brings sports so I am more than happy when it comes around each year.

Making some fajitas tonight gonna be great!!!

For me, I have little interest at this time in the start of the NFL season.

Sort of like how I view Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays, but from July 5 (when stores start putting their Halloween decorations) through the end of September. I am just not interested in Halloween until October rolls around.

No, I'll be interested, but there won't be much to see locally. My guess was the Bucks would win about 5 of the 17 games this year. Sports Illustrated is far more pessimistic. They say the Bucks will win 2 games this year in one of the worst of the NFL divisions.

It used to be that way when I lived in Boston. One year the Patriots were so poorly coached that they could barely start a play from scrimmage with getting a motion penalty. I think it may have been another year when they were in-line to get the first draft pick, and then screwed up and won a game.

For those who dislike the Patriots before they won so much in the early 2000s, there were some lean years.

I remember when the home games weren't on TV if they didn't sell out the game.

Which was counterproductive. If you don't show the home team to the hometown fans, they don't get interested in the team. Therefore they don't pay money to attend the games in person. The failure grows on itself.
