A coin that makes you happy

What's a coin that you own that makes you happy with no exceptions? A coin that hits all the right notes?
I have more expensive and rare coins, but this 1912 $5 is sorta "perfect" for me. I couldn't imagine upgrading it. My favorite US coin design, fantastic for the grade, wonderful color and luster, I'm not buried in it financially, it's basically the perfect type coin given the huge price increase at 65. I just can't see parting with this one. If I ever sell my $5 indian set, many of them are extremely nice, but this might be the last to go. And yet, I might point to others in my collection as my "favorite coin." But this one makes me happy.

@Pedzola that is one nice piece of gold! The coin that makes me happy is one that I wasn’t even looking for at the time. I came across this looking for holes in a set of mine but when I saw it, there was no way I would pass it up. Every time I look at it I get excited. I also like to use this coin as a benchmark for future purchases. If I’m not even remotely close to as excited about a coin I’m about to buy as I was this one, then I rethink why I’m buying it in the first place. I used to buy for the best deal but now I buy almost exclusively for what makes me happy as a collector.

At the risk of being booed, I am not a toning fanatic. At best, a nice patina is OK by me, and this one fit the bill years ago.

This is my go to.
Bought it raw from a local B&M dealer who was trying to get me to stop wasting my money on random dreck.
Something affordable and all the bells and whistles that CBH's have to offer. It's when a light turned on for me.

Never been to CAC, so don’t know if it passes muster or not, but hits all the other notes.
This is a coin you could walk around FUN with, and even the most jaded dealers on the floor would be making offers on.

This double dime for me. It’s the most common issue (75-S), not the highest grade (63), and I have a few rarer and nicer examples now including a pattern, but this is the one that started my interest in this quirky series so it’s special!

Mark Feld sold me this one thirteen years ago. Sold nearly all of my commems years ago, but this one I held onto. Not expensive or condition rarity, but a very pleasing toning on a cool design:

Nothing rare or special, but when I was young I spent quite a bit of time looking at pictures of $20 Saints, they seemed sooooo far away. When I was finally able to afford one it was exhilarating to say the least. One of many coins that make me happy.
Tonedeaf is a nickname given to me in reference to my guitar playing ability.

This Canadian half caught my eye and made me happy yesterday. The best part of the photo of the reverse is it fails to capture its full color. It's on fire like a MS64 1885-O Morgan that sells for $2000. This coin was under $30.

Beautiful coin! The M on UNUM looks interesting. I thought I was looking at bounce doubling until I saw the M. Maybe this coin will make you even happier.

Given that CAC does not evaluate the eye appeal of a coin, I did not know how the coin would look in hand. I never saw a coin that looked like this at the shows. I decided to take a gamble and the risk that the coin would not be as dark as the first picture.I love the coin and it's actually better looking in hand! I never thought I would own a coin that looked like this.

This is always my worry with buying proof barbers online especially. I’ve seen plenty of high grade, wonderfully toned coins but have passed them up due to my doubts of them not being either flashy enough/too dark.

Coins that invoke the memory of a pleasant time or person in my life are the ones that make me happy, regardless of their value or eye appeal.
I bought this around 1994 at a show at the County Center in White Plains from Chip Gambino, a mensch of a dealer from Westchester who is now gone.

This one makes me smile because I really didn't think I'd find, or have the opportunity to own, such a nice 1889-CC to complete my Morgan CC collection. This PCGS & CAC MS62, IMO, holds it's own against the remaining 12 in the set that are all MS64 and MS64+. Most collectors that know this coin and had it in hand believe it's under graded.

This coin below makes a lot of other people smile, when they have it in hand. Some even hold it to there chest and don't want to let go. It's fun to watch their reaction. 😁

This Lincoln I bought from the
OMB hoard is the most amazing copper coin I have personally owned. Super flashy bright original light red color very clean and devoid of spots from being in the middle of an original roll.
