Two Dollars 140 Years Apart

Great side by side comparison. I do like the original fonts better. I also wish Lady Liberty and the Eagle were brilliant with original cameo technique applied to the die instead of laser etched.

Very nice. Nostalgia has me leaning toward the 1883 but in another 140 years it won’t matter![ ](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
The new 2023 proofs are really nice, but it's not realistic to compare them to the original proof Morgan dollars. The finish on the new ones is very modern-looking and fitting for a coin dated 2023. IMHO the Mint should have created a retro brilliant proof cameo Morgan dollar and a matte proof Peace dollar alongside the modern proof ultra deep cameo versions, but... on to the reverse proofs!
