Someone on the BO forums did a pretty good breakdown of a few options for consigning / auctioning. I can’t vouch for the accuracy, but if it’s accurate then it’s good info to have. Dollar amt in his example is higher than $1K so it might vary for your items’ value.

Not Probstein! If he (or one of his employees) loses your card, he does nothing to make up for it.

It depends on what cards you want to consign and their total value. When I sold the last of my graded sets last year through Mile High I didn't pay any consignment fees.

Make of this what you will, but those aren't the attributes I'd most value.

    My two cents…

Vintage - Robert Edwards Auctions, Love of the Game Auctions

    Modern - 4Sharp Corners, Goldin

Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?

I know he is popular to use, but I had the same experience. I agree that 4Sharp is good with modern.

Did anyone talk to BBCE at the National about their upcoming auctions? I reached out to them at the info email and haven't heard anything back. I went to the auction site and it looks like it is still in test mode. I was wondering when the plan to start and how the fees/payments work.

i was told Robert Edwards was the best, but I was super disappointed in their customer service after I signed and in the results I got.

I do not want to get into a big back and forth about Probstein, but many of us members have had good experiences and Rick still seems to get premium prices.

Successful coin BST transactions with Gerard and segoja.

Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.

I've never used him to sell anything, but have never ha a problem buying. I will say they also have the most consistent advertising/posting of any platform. I get more notices from them than probably everyone else combined.

When it comes time to sell…I plan to use Heritage Auctions. Heritage Auctions has experience selling high-priced collectibles such as fine art, coins, etc besides sports cards and sports memorabilia w/offices globally. I would think that it has the most worldwide customer base and they have offered me a discount on sellers commission on recently purchased cards from them.

I know of at least 2 cards that sold way below market at Robert Edwards.
I know because I tried to bid on them, but there was a mixup on their end, so my bids were not accepted.
I was mad because I really wanted and needed the cards, and the seller couldn't have been happy with the results.
