I like how this one has two dates, 1863 in obverse and 1864 on the reverse. Very eye appealing as well!

The way coins were hoarded in that period with many melted that medal is a true survivor. Congrats.
Let’s not get carried away. This is very rare, but it was made for contemporary collectors. There were very few made, and virtually none melted. I once had one of these pieces in copper in Mint State when I was a dealer. I sold it as I had to do with many nice things.
There are a few nice uncirculated copper pieces but I have been unable to find any other silver pieces. Anyone know of more?
