The happy ownership premium, my 37-P Buff

Here is another piece that has in in my set seemingly forever. I don't even recall what came before this piece - what the one in my raw set may have looked like. I posted this maybe 15 years ago with the seller image, which while decent, was still an image from 15+ years ago and lacks the great look that Crazyhoundog brings to each piece he images.
I recall being somewhat stung by one of the responses, which in effect was 'why would you pay over price guide for such a common date and grade'. And it is true, even by today's measure, I paid $50 over 'average auction' for this piece. But I suspect for most of us, its not like that family doesn't get fed if we 'overpay' $50 on something, and this piece has brought a TON of viewing pleasure over the years.
Do you have your own 'proud ownership premium'?

According to some here that description fits my entire collection of NGC graded coins.![;) ;)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

Nice Buff! In my experience, if you want to get the nice coins, be ready to pay up. Enjoy your nice buffalo.
Yup. I paid damn near double guide for the last Roosevelt needed to complete my silvers in ms67fb. That's Proud Ownership Premium.
Looks like beautiful color and great luster. And yes, I have paid a lot for some coins and it has generally been worth it.

I paid over market for two of my most expensive coins. But, no surprise, they are both superlative for what they are and I truly enjoy both of them. If I had paid several hundred dollars less on each it would not have increased my enjoyment.
I pay premiums for the majority of the coins in my collection. While eye appeal is subjective, and I know for a fact that many collectors don’t care for the eye appeal that I find attractive, apparently enough other collectors feel as I do, as they bid against me.
In my opinion, coins are not commodities, where every MS65 for a specific date should be valued identically! Those coins that have better eye appeal in the minds of many collectors than the typical coin for the grade MERIT the premium paid!

Sure. I paid over PG money for these, but in the end when completed, this set will be outrageous.![](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/editor/v4/guf6vmak9rn6.jpeg)

Just about every buffalo nickel in my collection I’ve paid more than any book value.
I have to go on to say this 37 Buff you’re showing really pops. There no way my images can capture the true beauty of this coin.
Very nice 👍
I paid over for this one from @ad4400 , but I love it.
