What are your thoughts on these “Art” coins.

I picked up these “Art” coins for melt at an auction. They’ve Ben tested and they are the silver. Some are obviously made to look like real coins on the reverse. Do these carry a premium at all?

You'd better re-test. I seriously doubt ANY of these are silver.
I'd have to imagine that somewhere, someone would pay a premium for any or all of these, but it wouldn't be me.

I had thought that, too, but was giving the benefit of the doubt to the statement that they were tested and are silver. However, now that it is out there, I also doubt these are what you think they are in terms of metal content.

They look like Temu coins to me
Wish.com sells these by the dozen. Pot metal and about $2. each (bought in bulk).
Sold on eBay for $10. or more.
Novelties to be collected if they interest you, but no real value and almost certainly not silver.
How exactly did you "test" these?

They really do.
at $25/ounce thats $250 if you paid silver melt. If they are temu the retail was like $25.

Some may have been silver plated, but a good testing technique would pick that up. Cheers, RickO
Pick one up and balance it on the tip of your finger while holding it near your ear. Now, tap the edge with the side of a wooden pencil and listen to the ring. Next, do the same thing with a genuine silver dollar or an ASE and note the difference in the ring. Or, you could just drop them on a hard surface such as your counter top and compare the sound of the ringing. This should give you some idea of whether it's silver or not. This is called the ring test. Please let us know your results.

You're phone can work as a ping tester as well, there are free apps.
Test the coins with a magnet. Gold and silver will not stick to a magnet.

Yes, I think it is likely that these are all silver plated, unfortunately.
.
Some are nice looking.
Just send me your money, you'll feel much better. PM for my address.

Everyone, look how witty Bob is! Since I got cash to burn, I think I’ll frame them with a screenshot of your priceless comment. Definitely worth $200.00 now.
I guess I missed the part that you really bought those and it wasn't a spoof on the forum? Counterfeits are easily detected and those are likely silver plate over brass. Seen thousands of them and they all look the same as do those pictured. Who "tested" them? How were they tested???
lol

Can we get more information, why did you say they were tested? By who? And why did you focus on this auction lot? Who is the eBay seller.

To quote the OP:
Sounds like very good advice!
He never mentioned ebay
Don’t t use Ben to test your metal, guys!
It's an assumption based on him mentioning an auction

No one has said it yet, but if it's not marked with the silver content??
That's a clue.
As for the Mexican money, did you check them out with a magnet?
You should always Carry a magnet to a sale.
I assumed he bought these at a local estate type sale, where one could test in person.
If bought online, he should have done a Google picture search of a few before purchasing.
If you couldn’t tell by now, I’m sort of a jokester…I’ve just been gone awhile, lol. I primarily just buy and sell slabbed coins (just ask the selling thread), lol. I thought you guys would get a kick out of it. Same guy that was selling these on eBay just sold this lot as well.
Now that we know the thread is a joke. Did anyone else make a kit to test stuff or am I the only giant nerd who did this. Got my ping tester, scale with weights, magnet slide, loupe set, .999 silver coin and a sterling silver coin for comparison testing.

Ah. Ok. I read the whole thread and well. There’s so much trolling going on that perhaps if you scanned some of the recent threads you might have picked something else for your return and humor offering.
For some reason I have fairly negative feelings right now about this. Sorry. Maybe my sense of humor had been dulled with the silliness of certain instigators lately.
Thanks 🙏

I didn't make a kit, but have a strong magnet, caliper, scale. Loupe and a metal detector with a pretty good meter to distinguish silver and gold.
Can someone explain me the joke?
I can only guess, but it seems like the OP thought it was funny to waste everyone's time.
