The reverse has what appears to me to be an angled P beneath the eagles feet. I know the mint mark is supposed to be on the obverse but I'd like your opinion.

Looks like gouge, if it was a mint mark, it would be raised. PMD
You will find post mint damage on most all quarters in circulation.

I agree with PMD.. Quarters get used extensively, and wear/damage is quite common. Cheers, RickO
