Your Favorite Slab (Not 'Grading Company'- the actual physical slab)

I am curious which is your favorite slab as far as its presence and physical nature and why.
Not so much the graders abilities- but rather the slab and insert itself.

NGC 3.0 (gold foil & green label) and PCGS 2.1 (OGH two-piece with sharp edge).

Without question my favorite slab is the old small sized ANACS slabs. I love the compact form factor. It makes smaller coins appear less small and big coins look super impressive. The smaller size is nice when it comes to storage and transportation too. My only critique of them would be the coin edge is not viewable. In a perfect world they would have employed a prong system like the NGC edge view slabs.
If ANACS were to return to the old soap bar slab (with a prong system) it would be very hard for me not to cross over my entire PCGS collection.

i always liked the segs slabs, fwiw(i wonder if that guy mr. biggs is still around?)
Agree fully w/ Cladiator, the old ANACS 'soapbar' holders are the best. Small, compact, minimalist, they minimize clutter and bulk, and direct all the attention to the coin. Sad that slabs have 'supersized' like so much else in this world.

the old small ANA slabs are the best IMHO - small, didn't gas out, easy to store, bring them back
Especially the older ones without the barcode on the front insert.

I am not a slab collector, but one slab I really like, is the fancy green one issued by PCGS.... I do not recall the name, but it has been shown here a few times. Really nice. Cheers, RickO
The old ANACS soap bar ones are the best because they are smaller, but the PCGS ones before they used tabs are the best for when you have to take pictures through the slab. The newer ANACS ones are too flimsy and the top curving in looks funny to me. The SEGS are about equal to the pre-tab PCGS.
In reality, I think all slabs take away from the appearance of the coins. That’s why I like to take pictures of them and crop out the slab right away and then rarely look at the coins inside the slabs afterwards. None of them provide a background for the coin that enhances the coins appearance in my opinion.

The SEGS slab was the best designed of them all.
Besides the big 3, I always loved many of the other "not as popular" slabs, and older ones. Especially the ANACS soap bars!

I’m a big fan of NGC “fatties”, PCGS clam shells, and small ANACS holders. SEGS holders are the most durable IMO and for what it’s worth I’ll take PCGS green and solid blue inserts over the faded/gradient inserts, which I think are loosely graded.
Another vote for the small ANACS holder, especially the early ANA style as the gold foil hologram is attractive. Perfect size and really durable, for those same reasons I also like the ACG slab. Second favorite is the black label NGC holder, gold coins look killer in those. Honorable mention goes to SEGS, that slab was the toughest of any I have seen. Unfortunately, I do not own a black NGC slab.

I agree with everyone that said they liked the compact size of the old ANACS soap bars, but I found one even smaller.

I'd probably vote for the old soapbox holders also. Smaller is better. As far as current slabs go, PCGS Gold Shield. They're really light.

PCGS 2.1 with a dime, I find it concentrically hypnotic.

On the contrary, Google is not your friend.
That's funny! You may notice there are no NGC or PCGS slabs in the picture. I would need a wide angle lens to get all my slabs in one picture.

Here we go again.
