Hello, just listed on the bay 1889-CC morgan. I contacted the seller but he told me basically to pound sand and then blocked me. I apologize but I don't know how to link. If someone more tech savvy could post it would be greatly appreciated

I can't get the pic over here. Seller has updated his description to "pound sand I don't want to hear it" it's under 1889-CC MORGAN search. Advance thanks if someone knows how to do the photo link thing
That narrows it down to 295.

Seller just listed another fake. 1881 cc that is a very popular fake.
@dollarfan....You can copy and paste the link.... Cheers, RickO
Lol, one would think. I have tried but am apparently not as smart as my phone. Would you describe the procedure. Thanks and sorry. I just hate crooks.
@dollarfan... Aha...from a phone. Well, there are many different phones out there, so really cannot help you, I work from a laptop. Someone here can help I am sure... Post your phone type and perhaps you will get a response. Or, call your phone service center, they will also help. Cheers, RickO
VERY suspect, both coin and slab. And his only other listing is aforementioned 81-CC.

Thank you STEVE! yes that's the one, check out his description.....he knows
Here's the real one with that cert number :

Just sent the seller a message, it will be interesting to see what they say.
Both listings reported and seller contacted. His 1889-CC listing even includes a picture of the PCGS cert verification page, where it can be clearly seen that his coin isn’t a match.

Firstly I would never buy a coin from a buyer like that with a moronic inaccurate description like that.
Secondly PCGS graded Morgans AFAIK don’t have “Morgan” on the label.
My message that I sent:
Your previous message
I read your description and unfortunately both coins that you have up for sale are fakes. I understand that you entered the certification number on PCGS and it comes back good, the PCGS holders are fake also. At no time in the History of PCGS have they put the word "Morgan" on the holder unless it was a 1921. If you doubt what I say send PCGS an email with the pics you have and ask them to verify the authenticity the holders. I assure you that they are going to tell you the same thing as I am. There is a large amount of this stuff coming from China and there are many of them that all have the same certification number. This is one of them as well as the 1881-CC. You really need to pull both listings so no one else gets duped.
His response:
I’ve already sent them to PCGS and they confirmed that they were not fake.
I asked him again if he sent pics of the slabs to PCGS and have gotten no further response.
Edit:This seller also recently sold a couple of suspicious-looking commemorative half dollars:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/175768166632
https://www.ebay.com/itm/175772335527
As mentioned, when viewing the pictures of the 1889-CC on the PCGS cert verification page (which the seller included in his listing) it's easy to see they're not a match to his coin. If he doesn't already know his is counterfeit, all he has to do is look at the pictures.

So what are the odds that this guy is going to get bounced from eBay? I’m curious because of that other thread that has been getting some run recently where the OP was banned.
The verification page also lists the holder as gold shield, which is why I went ahead and reported the listings after his response.
Agree, messaged seller so hoping he'll get the message this time

What are the odds this seller already knew they were fake before he even listed them?![:D :D](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)

Report submitted!
The reverse is no match. The breast feathers are not a match for a coin graded MS63.
Not to mention the slab and label are wrong.

✓ Everyman Mint State Lincoln Cents (1909 – 1958)

There’s no need to even look at the holder or the coin’s reverse. The obverse portrait is a dead-giveaway.

I'd say extremely high based on his replies and description.
I just messaged the seller, he should be getting annoyed by now.

Come on guys!!! This is why I post my list of counterfeits in fake PCGS holders...
Oh well.
And got positive feedback. Huh?

The Morgans are fake, yes.
But I would not necessarily condemn those two commemoratives as counterfeits, based only on those pictures.
.
Both reported. As others have already pointed out, clear fakes. I even linked the cert pages to ebay. The second (81-cc) cert no longer even shows as valid on pcgs https://www.pcgs.com/cert/02609767

The seller ended both listings.
Excellent work that we all benefit from. Peace Roy

You guys are the best (Can I still use that gender?).
In simplistic terms the back of the coin doesn't seem to line up with PCGS's truview scan. So ye, I see to which you are referring.
I did see an ad for these...
https://gekeey.com/products/1889-cc-morgan-silver-dollar?variant=33227fcf-2e6a-47a2-853b-8a789b463bc2&msclkid=4609e7be99c111fbf08f8302c7c601d0
Was this the "coin " that was inserted or a facsimile?
I don't know how these are spotted so quickly? E-Bay should really support the posters on the board with perks for spotting a potential problem.
My tell would have been that the seller only sells coins for a max of $100. Now he offers a $20,000 coin?
OK, seller originally posted it on a FB group; listing was removed.
I joined the group and posted my list- https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1092738/master-list-of-pcgs-counterfeits-and-slabs-from-one-seller#latest
Seller asked if the '89-CC and "81-CC were fakes and I told him yes; he then admitted what he bought them for:
I then was notified about this post and realized it was the same guy...
He has now blocked me from bidding and on FB; oh well...
Nice bit of information. Looks like he knows and really is trying to fool someone. He should be turned in for fraud.

No question it was deliberate, IMHO.
I’d imagine it’s only a matter of time before he’s back at it with more fakes to sell.
The guy claims to have 45 years of collecting experience with a focus on silver dollars so there is no way he could have thought he was buying a real ‘89 cc for less than 1/1000th of the price.
It’s good that there are a number of you all on the forum that are super vigilant about outing these listings. While I feel bad for sellers that didn’t know any better that they were selling a fake, this guy is not one of them.
Let the scum know that knowingly selling counterfeit goods is a felony. Maybe that will catch his attention...

I don't think so; he admits "And I Am By No Means A Numaisits"...
Just a note- eBay removed both of the commemms for a reason as well.
I found the seller's website off eBay and he appears to have sold 3 bad Stone Mountains as well:
https://www.marcscoinsales.com/shop/1925-p-stone-mountain-commemorative-half-dollar-mint-state-condition/

https://www.marcscoinsales.com/shop/1925-p-stone-mountain-half-dollar-mint-state-condition/
Those Stone Mountains are obviously bad.
If it's a first offense, pretty close to zero.
The OP in that other thread had multiple issues and may well get reinstated if he follows the protocol.
