For the new coin collectors here, "slider" is an old slang term for an otherwise mint state coin with very light highpoint wear. Picture a new coin that has been slid across a tabletop or a bar top which is where the term came from. This term has pretty much been replaced with AU58.

I thought the original term slider was for the White Castle burgers... small and greasy. I knew why it was adopted for coins... But as I recall, it was those burgers, usually consumed late at night on the way back to the barracks/ship. Cheers, RickO
