I only use FedEx or USPS. Unfortunately, regardless of what happens, prices are going to increase. FedEx and USPS will not be able to handle the, at least, 33% increase. If UPS goes on strike, they (USPS and FedEx) are going to have to hire more employees and contractors therefore increasing prices. If UPS doesn’t go on strike and reaches a deal, then obviously, prices will go up, too. To support their increased wage. It’s a messy no-win situation for the consumer. There is also the potential for more theft, fraud and delivery delays during the strike, because of independent contractors and an overloaded system. :p

Seems that I recall hearing UPS is looking into training temp drivers as a contingency plan. Not sure how that wiil work. My business doesn't rely on shipping so other than the few personal shipments it will not have much of an impact to me directly. However, as @Walkerfan said there could be some indirect effects of longer shipping times and costs.

Strike will put tremendous pressure on all shippers so yes concerned..

None. I never use ups anymore. They ruined by son's computer and he never got anything for it. As far as I am concerned they can go under and disappear.

My business model relies on shipping, we ship about 250 packages a week with them so yes, I’m rather concerned.

Undelivered Package Scheme charges for delivery to the address but drops off 3-5 miles away. Inflated profits from lack of delivery.

I do not use UPS.... Unless some seller (not necessarily coins) uses them to ship to me. I stick with USPS, or occasionally FedEx. Real good results from both of those. Cheers, RickO

I get some auction winnings with UPS. A couple week stall will probably be similar to a USPS stuck in loop package for me. The effect on the economy and supply chain will be bad.

I don't think there is one thriving business today that hasn't inflated prices, lowered quality and set it right on the consumers pocketbook.

I have about as many concerns with a UPS strike as I have with the Sag-Aftra strike. :D

It doesn’t affect me, and I support the workers. Though let’s pray they don’t go on strike. :#

Isn't PCGS return shipping coins exclusively with Fedex now? I was very, very happy when I found that out. They are so much easier to deal with...hold at location, get your package in 10 seconds from someone who actually cares about their job, and done.

UPS is the only carrier for shipping ammunition. So, if you're running low......

Maybe if UPS goes on strike Amazon will open up and start taking outside packages again.

Having worked for the Postal Service for 36 years, I can say that I never really liked UPS.

They got rich by not having to deliver to all addresses like the Post Office.

They also siphoned off all the very profitable business deliveries in major cities.

Their "good business practices" made them (and their stockholders) very rich.

Except for individual collectors and dealers that use them, I don't think that a strike would hurt the coin collecting hobby.

Not particularly at the moment. Most of my shipments are usps... Everything I had with ups has been delivered but I am keeping my ears to the ground. I know a seller who uses ups almost exclusively though...

I am but not because of coins. I need to order cattle vaccines in August or September and these have to be shipped/delivered overnight. Can't use USPS (my preference for coins) and FedEx is terrible in my area. I could write a book about all of the issues I've had with FedEx over the years and refuse to use them if I have a choice.

Never used them because they will not ship to post office boxes and the only UPS place is in a battered old trailer 40 miles from here, only open for two hours after 5 PM. Totally agree with BuffaloIron’s previous post.

I do not purchase ammo anywhere except retail stores. If Bed Bath and Beyond branched out to guns and ammo they would not have gone under.

Just an update. May not be of much concern here. But for those expecting any UPS shipments by 7/31,my shipment was shipped out 7/20 so it looks like it will arrive before a potential strike.
