eBay ad description states: Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar. The Red Book list for $2,750.00 for this mint coin.

Backstory: I am not interested in this coin, but it is listed on eBay from a buyer who has not paid me for the item that they purchased from me back on Friday. (eBay makes you wait 4 days before cancelling a sold item). I did sent an invoice after waiting ~48 hours unpaid.

Since I was not being paid, I checked out my buyer (feedback 100% positive) items (1) for sale (see link below) I checked the Redbook and no 1936 is listed at $2750. There is an exception for the Proof verity at PR65. Well this cion is stamped (by PCS Stamp & coins) as Genuine Uncirculated, so it's not a Proof. Just to make sure I contacted PCS S&C and they confirmed that if the coin was a Proof, it would be labeled as such.

What should I do here? Is this case of "Buyer beware" or should I contact eBay or the Seller? Again, as my "Buyer" this person has not responded to his purchase or my invoice. Thanks in advance, Joe

100% positive feedback based on recent purchase history... based on not getting paid an unwilling to contact you that won't be 100% for long. His seller feedback has 2 entries. One negative "garbage scammer liar" and the second for what may have been the same item. No faith in this buyer!

I'd wait the 4 days, cancel the sale and relist if you still want it sold. FWIW this is why I have limited eBay selling... between fees and unreliable buyers it's just not worth it.

The coin is a dipped and polished AU.

Fall for what exactly? A misidentified or overpriced coin? Get a lemonade and enjoy the summer.

Someone I "know" just sent this message to the seller:

"This coin is NOT listed at $2750 in the Redbook, or anywhere close to that amount. Your misleading listing is being discussed on a large coin forum and your eBay reputation is going to go downhill in a hurry if you don't correct your listing error."

Okay, someone did that... Thank you!

His reputation as a seller is not that great already.

    Thanks to all,

Question, how do you leave negative feedback on Buyers? eBayer only give Positive as an option...

You can't. You can put negative text in a positive feedback, in case anyone reads it.

Maybe it's the magazine Redbook instead of The Red Book !!! :):)

i think he is trying to sell the coin before paying you for it that way way he just gets money pays you and keeps the rest. very unscrupulous but probably not illegal he is trying to make money without investing any. that is why i buy from only about 5 or less dealers on ebay. there is a lot of shady people lurking in the shadows

and personally i think its a 53 at best if you look at reverse (and photo is fuzzy) the feathers down the stomach and side of the eagle are worn smooth or appear to be to me that isnt an uncirculated coin with parts worn smooth.imho

The coin that he bought from me was only $13.60, so he's not waiting...

oh i thought you said he bought the 1936 walking liberty from you and hasnt paid you yet

its definitly a rip off but thing is he can ask a million dollars for it if someone buys it its buyer beware he didnt force anyone to buy it. but if he has told multiple lies in the description of the coin he needs to be reported

The common way is to block the buyer. Many people here circulate their Blocked Bidder List upon request.

No change to this seller Walking Liberty ad. I contacted eBay this morning and informed them that this seller has the coin listed as Proof and that it is not, it is Uncirculated. They will take action.

As a Buyer this person never paid me, so I will cancel the order and relist.

It’s merely been relisted (at the same price and still as a Proof).
