Will this 1893 S Morgan Straight grade?

Seems like honest wear, but unsure if the deeper hits or rim bump would prevent it from straight grading with our host?

Ah yes, Canyon City Coin. Looks like they renamed themselves. They are known for posting very edited pics and calling details coins "BUUUU+++" and all that jazz. I would avoid the headache and just get a slabbed example or a raw one with honest images. This will not look like that in hand, and IMO the rim bumps will detail it.

I am not certain how the seller assesses this one at "Choice VF+"
Right now the price is decent although I am sure it'll go for more before the auction ends.
To answer your question, I do believe it'll straight grade 70/30% chance with PCGS

on eBay you used to be able to see all seller name changes ... have they changed that to protect their income?
is that 1893-S even authentic? some funky looking letters on reverse and besides the rims looks like some corrosion/cleaning
This coin is neither choice nor VF nor +.
Run away. There Is a reason this coin isn't in a slab. Think about it.
When you see a numismatic business advertise a "Blue chip investment example" just run far away. It's Carson City Coin's account (new nomenclature) and the coin appears to be cleaned to oblivion, and has some secondary dark color. I say "no" for straight grade. They are known for heavy manipulation of photos, I bet the coin is a turd in hand.

I'm no detective and not computer savvy but a very very similar coin pcgs cert 46685479 was sold on 3 July I don't know how to post photos but this appears as I said, very similar. Hmmmm.
Good detective work DollarFan...I believe it is this coin...same spots and rim bunps.

'From original collection', Ha! What a load of baloney.

Many coins of this seller, previously known as "Canyon City Coin" and now recently changed to "denver.coins," can be tracked from problem TPG slabs. They somehow keep good feedback with so many returns.
Avoid this seller at all costs. They are dishonest predators.

It is a genuine 93-s.
Die markers are evident in pics.
However I don’t think it will straight grade.
Even if it did—I don’t think it would even get a FINE 12
Is it even real?
A few posts above has a link that clearly shows this coin in a PCGS holder. Close to zero question about authenticity.

No, the rims will likely keep it out, looks like it could have been mount removed even.
I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
Was graded as details in the last holder for rim damage... same coin cracked out. Listing says sold now, some poor sucker got taken. Cheers, RickO
No sure why anyone would bid $4,500 on a raw coin from only pics. But seller pays return shipping so guess not much risk if buyer has some numismatic knowledge and should be able to tell rims were tampered with or have issues.
Definitely the same coin, no question, and it looks like they did something to it after breaking it out. Part of this seller's business model is to buy details stuff, crack it out and resell it as if problem free, sometimes after messing with it in some fashion.

My first impression was that it won't straight-grade. This was borne out by the images of the same coin in a "genuine" holder. It hammered for $4500... not nearly what a real VF+ coin would bring... I'm curious if they'd have done better with the coin in the Genuine holder as opposed to raw. I look at auctions like this and wonder "why isn't this coin holdered" when it's an issue that's heavily counterfeited. I'm guessing by cracking this coin out, a number of wouldbe bidders just stayed on the sideline...

Same coin, same old scam.
I don’t like the look of it, genuine or not.
i was blacklisted by them for questioning their calling a cleary worn coin a b/u and i did it in a private message involving no one else. i just simply said imo not a b/u afterward i wasnt allowed to bid on their merchandise i have gotten some really nice coins from a guy in arizona at james toliver or auction kings same people i think
That seller buys a lot of problem coins, cracks them out and sells them raw where they instantly become from an original collection quite often.
