I think this one has a nice look.

Do you agree?

What do you think of her?

Any and all comments welcome.

Hard to say the surfaces have never been cleaned in 175 years, but I like the look, I like it a lot. AU 50 ?

From what I can tell from those pics, I like the look of your coin. Perhaps an Au58.

Crusty indeed! Much nicer than my own crusty 1847 (below)...I'd guess AU something. 55?

I see some parallel lines in the right obverse field and left obverse field. It has a nice look, but it looks to me like it's been cleaned. I don't mind some stray lines on a circulated coin, but those look a bit deliberate to me. Hope I'm wrong.

    Looks good to me.

    Nice looking dollar, AU55?

    That’s an attractive looking coin. I’ll guess that it’s a 55-58.

Looks like a nice coin. It has great detail but not as much luster as I would expect for the detail. How about... AU53

It’s a great looking coin. Those hairlines on the obverse might have caused the graders to lower the grade, so I’m thinking it might be graded 50

OK, I'll bite: a bit of lustre loss as others have said and slight friction. I am inclined to go 53 and attractive at that but would not be surprised by a 55. 58 I don't see.

Looks like the tarnish is covering what may be a somewhat harsh cleaning... The hairlines in the fields of the obverse make me think that..... A couple of stronger lines in the reverse fields... If it appears the same in hand, I would pass on that one. Cheers, RickO

A few hairlines but nice overall look and stong details.

Kind of surprised by some of the comments. Yes, it has some light hairlines, but that is not uncommon, for coins of this era. Even the King of Siam Proof Set has been wiped down and lightly cleaned. The fields and devices are mostly unabraded, except for a short, thin scratch on the reverse. I don't see any rub on this piece, either, and it looks pretty wholesome, to me. Graded MS 61. Thanks for playing.

It’s a great coin. The 61 grade makes sense only because of those hairlines on the obverse. Otherwise it’s a gem for sure

What do you think of the luster? My interpretation of the photos is that the luster is lacking in the fields and on the very high points.

    Here’s better images:

Luster appears lightly frosted underneath original surfaces.

Those photos show more luster. Nice coin.
