Although I do understand that the "market" likes more solid and bright toning, I happen to be a fan of toning that looks typical brassy-brown at first glance, but reveals itself to be closely-packed little specs of several different colors. Which of course makes such coins a BEAR to image accurately. Image below is not mine, but is the seller's (Coinman1794 / DM Rare Coins on eBay) and he did a good job at getting the colors on this piece. Looks like he also does coin imaging.

Nice cent and outstanding photographs. While I am not a tarnish fan, I do know that copper can darken quickly. My final judgement is always the coin - quality, strike, general appearance. Cheers, RickO
Interesting tarnish for sure... almost looks like some a water stain on the obverse.

I can certainly relate to the imaging issues, some of the early Lincoln cents have a propensity for a speckled type of toning that I have never been able to photograph well. I have had Mark Goodman photograph most of those coins in my collection as his setup is far superior to mine and is able to get great shots.
Congrats on your newp.![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
