Ebay and PCGS coins

Is it true that PCGS does better on eBay or does the coin get judged for the coin. (Ps ebay has some very interesting buyers !!)

I find that NGC coins sell for one grade less, than PCGS coins on eBay.

This could also be due to competition within PCGS Registry sets, which have more participation, and not necessarily the quality of the coin.

That's not an ebay thing. It's a market thing. Put a CAC on it and it sells even better.

    It depends on the coin…….

World collectors seem to favor NGC, while PCGS tends to do better in moderns and top pop stuff (think Registry material). For certain categories, any price difference is negligible.

Great coins will sell for great money, whether they’re graded by our host, or our friends across the street.

Can you elaborate on the interesting buyers?
Some people spend more on pcgs plastic...that's a given.

I live on eBay. I personally buy the coin but have a slab type set. Other than some rare older slabs I have found all the other items I’m looking for. Ngcx. Done. Pcgs 35 th anniversary. Done. CAC’s new slab, still looking as they are very pricey. $120 for a roll edition ase🤔
I suppose that might make me interesting but I don’t feel interesting 🥱. Mostly feel like a nap is good. Very good 😎

PCGS slabs definitely go for more, compared to NGC.

Basically, whether ebay, coin shows or internet, PCGS coins generally sell for more. Cheers, RickO

I am working on a graded mint state Lincoln Cent set, and have purchased more than 380 coins thus far. I have not noted a difference between NGC and PCGS, more so between sellers in their pricing across the board. I purchased one of each date and mint mark, so I have not done a thorough analysis. I look for the coin in the end, the slab provides protection and a grade.

They are very wishy washy and flakes, indecisive maybe? Yet spend money like no end it is almost like they sway with the mood

Pretty true, but the coin should speak for itself but not usually.

There will be outliers of course, and yes the coin needs to stand on its own merit, but all 4 coins being equal normally follows that formula. Throw OGH/rattler/fatty holder into the mix and all bets are off.
