More Fun with Fakes; or, a New Bad Variety in a fake PCGS Slab…

I wasn’t sure what to expect when the FB ad crossed my feed for an 1871-CC Half Dollar from the known Chinese counterfeiter; not on my original list, they must be expanding.

“Coin” is basically the same as the prevalent 1875-CC with the same reverse and diagnostics.

They picked a bad cert to steal, as it does match the description but has on-line images and a past auction listing (also with images).

No end in sight...

Best, Jack.

At least they are offering fast shipping and at $26.99 that's a great bargain. Genuine coin dealers hate this one trick.

I think that new seller Pooideg is just another one from calabashboys or whatever their name is. ;)

Let's see, If you buy 5 you get 5 free and if you buy 20 you get 10 free. But if you buy 5 four times.....Hmmm. We gotta rethink this.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

Facebook has gotten soo frustrated with me disrupting their scam coin ads that they have removed all of them from my feed. Now they just show me scam ads for car giveaways. :D

@burfle23... Thank you for this alert, and all the others you have posted. You provide valuable information, and, indeed, may have saved many collectors from financial losses. Cheers, RickO

The shotgun seller has the photo skills down for selling counterfeits as most of photos were out of focus.
