Some crackouts

From 10-20 years ago , you used to be able find PCI, ANACS and even SEGS that where fairly or under graded. Cleaning out my junk drawer today and I thought I’d post a couple dead soldiers. I am going to send all my PCGS back to our host to correct the pop reports.

Wow, that is a lot of crackouts 😮

Do your hands hurt?
Gezzz
Personally, I think the thread would be more interesting if you showed what PCGS graded them.

Hey, you dropped one on the concrete floor!
All those beautiful soap bars....................gone forever! 😫 I love those old small ANACS soap bars!
Does Anacs correct their population figures if they get the certs back?
ONLY SOME!!??

I doubt it.
Type set?
You had a few pci “PQ” grades, forgot they did that, I wonder how they graded after you cracked them out. The old green pci holders with less digits always seemed to be accurately graded. Thanks for sharing
The value of soapbars just went up a bit more. Why all the crackouts?

How much in grading fees and round-trip insured shipping does this pic represent? Any guesses?
There was a fellow coin club member and friend who collected Draped Bust Half Dollars by Overton variety. He cracked out each of his coins out after he bought them. I guess he was a purist who wanted his coins raw so he could touch them when he examined them. His interests changed and he decided to sell his nearly complete collection. I can still hear him whine about how much it cost him to get every coin reslabbed.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
Those were the days!

@Manorcourtman... That is an amazing amount of crack outs!! Is there a general reason for most? Or do you really like raw/album coins? Cheers, RickO
I had a PCI gold holder PQ graded Unc. that came back substantially less at NGC.
They were bought and cracked out over a 10-15 year period so it really wasn't all that many. I had a coin business so it was done for profit mostly. And it was profitable for the most part. The old PCI PQ label holders were usually ungraded in my experience. I had many PCI green, 10 digit holders upgrade at PCGS. Those days are long gone. Usually what remains in the market are still in the holders for a reason.
