Empire Coin Company, HK-854A White Metal Continental Dollar SC$1. And an obscure item I ran into

Several years back Frank posted White Metal Continental Dollar SC$1 re-strikes counter stamped with his Empire Coin Company store card. Since then I've always been enamored by it. I was searching google for something un related and came upon a
Letterpress Printing Block Empire Coin Company Inc. While it's not the same as owning the overstruck SCD. I thought it was the coolest thing to find.
.
I posted below a picture of the old Storefront and of Franks overstruck SCD.
And, my printing block pics. When overlayed they match up exactly.

Here's one of Dave Bowers 1961-62 circa HK-854A White Metal Continental Dollar SC$1 re-strikes counter stamped with his Empire Coin Company store card during his early days with partner Jim Ruddy. The store card obverse motif is copied from the 1787 IMMUNIS COLUMBIA copper and the reverse from a $5 gold coin of 1795 these being the Empire Coin Company trademark. The obverse states Empire Coin Company Inc. and the reverse Professional Numismatists

And, this is the printing block.

Stuff like that is cool and interesting to see let alone own!! MadMarty once came into possession of blocks used to print RedBooks and sent me the Jefferson Nickel Printing Block because he knew I collected that series. :p
