Get ready to be inspired by the incredible work of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the United States Mint! Picture a team of talented individuals who are passionate about designing coins that truly capture the spirit of America. This panel of experts hold public meetings, and guess what? They want to share their amazing collaboration with you, the public, and the coin collecting community! Now, you might be wondering, what's the big deal about coin designs? They're like tiny works of art that celebrate America's history, achievements, and diverse culture. The CCAC, a group appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury, takes this task seriously. For this panel discussion, CCAC participating members will include a numismatist, a historian, an expert specially qualified in sculpture or medallic arts, members recommended by federal legislators, and members representing the general public.
So, get excited! The CCAC is working hard with the United States Mint to bring us remarkable circulating and commemorative coins and medals. They're like little treasures that honor important events and remarkable people. Let's celebrate our history, diversity, and the power of collaboration as we embark on this numismatic journey together. Your ideas matter, your voice matters, and with the CCAC and the United States Mint, we can make our coins shine bright like the stars and stripes!
Join us at the session entitled “Coins and Medals of the United States: Role of the CCAC, Congress, and the United States Mint”, scheduled for 5 PM on August 9, 2023 at Room 336 of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the 2023 World’s Fair of Money, sponsored by the American Numismatic Association.
