2023 W $5 Proof finish....

Is this the "normal look" of a 2023 W proof $5 Gold Eagle? The obverse device frosting has very strong pixelation which I never noticed as being this stark before. The reverse pixelation is not as noticeable. My 1st thought when opening the mint box was... " is this real?" It just looked funny to me. This is the only example handily available to check at this time. HM

I am unsure, but AI would know!
Good pics.
The "frosted device thing" on modern coins has been disappointing for a while. The first time I noticed it was on the 2012 Star Spangled Banner commemorative $5 gold. I don't think that this frosting is attractive.
My 2021’s:
The mint changed the way they prepare the dies. I think they use a laser now to etch the frosted part of the dies. It has an unnatural frosted appearance compared to older cameo coins.

There’s a bunch on eBay. Raw and graded. $30-$30,000. Interesting 🧐
