Does anyone besides myself think TPG employees work all night?

I mean,,,, I must think that. I check the status of my submission before going to bed each night and then check again first thing in the morning. I have no other explanation except that I must think they must work all night.

We get e-mails at 11:30 p.m., 3:30 a.m. etc. when grades are posted. I think PCGS has three shifts - 24 hours a day during the week.

We can all sleep safe at night knowing the TPG midnight shift is on duty.
I recently (this week) got an email at 7:31pm pacific that my grades were posted, so I'm pretty sure they may at least have a partial swing shift
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

I'm not sure we're all talking about the same TPG'er.
I think all the bulk moderns are done on the overnight shift. The worker bees churn out those 69 and 70 all night long.
It's like the graders are Santa Claus's elves and we're all waiting for our Christmas gifts in July! 😂
Good, I feel better already 👍
an increase in production requires more hours and sometimes more shifts.
It will happen suddenly
and also a closer look at quality

Tiredness and eye strain can explain a lot of the generously graded materials out there.
I don't want the grader grading my coins, doing it on a midnight shift!
Mid shift grading could explain some of these "off-the-wall" grades that are given.
I have my doubts about our host even having a swing shift, let along a mid shift.

I've seen late evening grades pop too but I don't think they work shifts. My guess is stuff gets entered into the system and mass updates occur at certain times.
Here’s what I imagine. Grading late.

Shifts only make sense when the facility or machinery for production is limited and adding shifts extends the productivity. For grading, all you need are some chairs and lamps. I doubt they’re doing shifts for this portion of the process.
Now, if the limited number of “sonic sealing machines” (or whatever they are called), is causing a bottleneck in production and limiting output, then it may make sense to have additional shifts for that step of the process.

Hope there's a good shift diffential , fwiw
My wife says I work on my orders in the middle of the night, mumbling in my sleep
I like to think they're so slow because they're having a difficult time assigning grades to MY coins.
Back when I was at ANACS we used to be terribly backlogged doing photography, since were were still using the photo certificates, so we put on a second shift just in photography from 5 PM to 1 AM. Of course that meant that one of us senior staff had to be there to monitor things and lock up whenever we were done. THe next morning that person could come in a little late.
I don’t worry about that but - My worry about loss in transit, etc.
I just monitor where my order is in the process then when I get grades, images plus shipping / tracking number make sure I am there at PO pick it up day of arrival or asap. I might put the items up in online store marked up accordingly for retail to start some date couple weeks in future then when received activate for sale.
I did really well with some PCGS Banknote Grading CSA / Obsoletes, low pop notes had received back from our hosts at subsequent show setup at. They sold very quickly.
My question is do they have people to pick up submissions at the po. My submissions have been sitting as registered mail in the TPG’s box for a couple of work days.
