Based on my photos?
White? Frosty? Blast white? Light toning? Etc
Good ol' ebay buyer complaining that the coin isn't what I didn't describe it as... So curious how you would describe it?
TIA.

“measlely”
Neither blast white, white nor lightly toned, but rather, faintly toned.

White reverse and lightly toned obverse. I sometimes when selling use the term mostly white.
Why not just say, “the coin pictured is the one you will receive” and let the photo’s speak for themselves. The pictures are very good for auction photos

Mostly white. How did you describe it?

The NGC “MS-65” grade is a bit generous IMO. According to the Grey Sheet the bid from 64 to 65 is $98 to $190. That 100% price jump may have had something to do with it, the price was based on the MS65 number.
Let's see a link to your description.

Looking for Top Pop Mercury Dime Varieties & High Grade Mercury Dime Toners.
Just looked up the listing and I see no issue with what you wrote about the coin.

I wouldn't call it anything except "MS65" as per the slab. Let buyers make their own assesment on anything else.

Agree with Tom, I saw the listing. Your pictures are more than adequate. Some buyers just like to shift blame, so that they don’t have to accept responsibility. Accept a return, refund, block and move on. Guy did it to me with a $5000 coin, “too many scratches on the back”. Ok dude, I guess my multiple pictures in different lighting, true view, and a video weren’t enough. Ebay functions like an approval service, and you drew the short stick unfortunately. The coin does not look strong as a 65, but the pictures should have been enough to see that.

I agree, buyer probably didn't like it in hand as a 65. The wording to me was absolutely fine.
I would not have used the term frosty personally, but the use of the term is not misleading either. I think mostly white is enough; and less is more in my mind for auction descriptions.

I’d describe it as overgraded for full transparency
Thanks for all the feedback. It ended on a pleasant note - he left a very nice feedback and is returning the coin. I also sent him the pcgs page for cam and dcam showing examples of frost and explained to him that I use pcgs definition for frost, aka frosty fields/devices VS Flashy fields, not to be confused with color description (aka toned or white) to avoid future discrepancies.

Very light toning around the rim.
I'm not an expert, but I do actively collect Morgans; this is just my opinion.
Your description was entirely fair. Your buyer is unreasonable. Lots of people in this world are unreasonable, and many of them are on eBay. It's the way it goes; why fight? Just refund, block and move on.
As an editorial comment, I'm very surprised at the MS65 grade with all that chatter. I'm sure it looks better in hand, but I suspect the buyer just had buyer's remorse.
Based on photos, unacceptable at that grade. As a collector since the early 60's, 95% of Morgans are bullion to me, so I'm a bit biased.
Agree. Frosty might imply contrast that is missing. I'm not sure that the toning, however, would be the issue.
I specifically stated frosty fields in the title, as opposed to devices. Do you think that was what caused the confusion?
