The low ball coins are a whole separate world.

Yes, it's hard to get a Poor 1 on this coin.

    Your MS65 is worth $20

I don't get it either @silviosi - Used to be the coin world would wouldn't give you a look when all you could afford was an extremely worn coin.

There is a segment of the coin collecting population that seeks low grade coins - and PO01 is the grail of that sector. Not my area of interest. Cheers, RickO

I have been watching some of the auctions on GC and can't figure out some of the bidding. I saw an PR-65 Kennedy in a recent auction that went for $5175 with the buyers fees included. It was in an OGH. The coin wasn't even close to being appealing in my opinion..........and is listed on the PCGS website for $26. I guess there's some things I'll never understand...... After further review it appears the coin I'm writing about was slabbed with a white label before they changed to green....and was apparently one of the first 1,100 coins ever graded.........but still seems like a rather hefty premium for that coin......

You answered your own question, the premium was not for the coin but the holder. For some collectors of the early generation PCGS and NGC slabs, the phrase "buy the coin, not the holder" has been turned on its ear.

Hello modern PO-1's! Someone was just talking about those. 😉

Seems a tad OCD to me.
Card guy’s rarely care how old the holder is unless the era were looser grades and then the card sells for less, not more.
