Old generation holder pop reports question

I am working on older holders gen 2 and 3 from pcgs and ngc. Is there any record of population reports from way back then? I feel like I am looking for needles in haystacks.

PCGS used to publish quarterly and monthly population reports years ago. On occasion you might find one of these on ebay from as late as the rattler days (1986-1989), but more likely will find them from the early 2000s. If you check often, you might find an early 1990s publication. They can be a great, and inexpensive, resource.

    Good luck!

Even if you find the pop report you are looking for, many have been crossed over to newer holders by now so the numbers wouldn't be accurate. I have a PCGS pop report from October 1997.

A box of them was donated to one of the CA coin clubs (Orange County maybe?). @davidschwager posted about them on IG a few weeks back. I don't know what they've done with them.

I have no idea what generation holders I have stored away... Might be some good one's... No idea and no interest... and too busy to pull out the old storage cartons and look. Cheers, RickO
