As most have said, silence is golden in this case, no pun intended.
Why would anyone broadcast this and second, why would you give them to the police?
Gold is easy to move.... It was a legitimate find... If you dug it up - instead of finding it in a fuel tank - would you also contact the police? No.... Cheers, RickO
I don't recall ever hearing about this story. I found this video. It happened back in 2017?? There's a lot of info out there on it. I'll have to do some more reading. Would love to hear...... the rest of the story! As soon as I saw they were Brits, I'm thinking it didn't end well for them. The British government is going to want their cut of the profit and the government of origin is going to want it back! I could be wrong.

People really can do the dumbest things!😳
I'm not sure trying to get the bars to the rightful owners should be called the "dumbest thing"

The first rule of Finding-Gold-Bars-In-A-Fuel-Tank Club is: You do not talk about Finding-Gold-Bars-In-A-Fuel-Tank Club.

It'd be a shame if those bars got near some heat and melted a little and then you couldn't identify them.
