2022 Lincoln Cent with weird Machine Doubling?

jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 10,110 ✭✭✭✭✭

I assume machine doubling. But it is very weird, especially how the ends of the numbers and some letters are split. Your opinions please. It appears to be dished out all around the bust and letters.

Unless it's reflection, it sure looks like something is happening there. Looks like some minor notch action. I'll wait for others to chime in.

Looks like die erosion to me.

Machine Doubling would not show on both sides of the letter.
Most likely caused by a Deteriorating Die.

It does appear to be die deterioration... and I certainly agree that it deserves posting and questioning.... Your pictures are excellent and others will learn from this. Cheers, RickO
