Mint error or pmd? Roosevelt dime
![Ppp](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/7XRSL4WOSV5J/nR42FNPBICFIB.jpeg)
I just picked up this strange looking dime. At first I thought pmd then decided to post these pictures to see if it could be some type of mint error that I have never seen.
The dime is non magnetic and weighs only 1.88 gems and because of its low weight I am having difficulty seeing it as anything but pmd.
Any comments?

It is PMD.
There is no way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.

Acid did it's job.

Definitely PMD... Likely acid etched.... Cheers, RickO

You haven't seen this type of error before because it's not an error. It that simple.
When subject to extremes coins can turn into many forms that we have not seen before. But it's good to ask so everyone can learn.
The first question that many error specialists ask is "How could this have happened during the minting process?" The answer for this one is "It couldn't have happened at this time."
Ask yourself how could this happen at the Mint? Then you'll have your answer.

Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
The coin's been messed with. That's why it weighs under.
