    That's not even a fantasy date!

    It happens with Gallery Mint items as well.

    Buyer beware.

    Thanks to all for pointing that out and for notifying the eBay seller.
    I periodically check eBay listings for such things, but I was away for a few days.

    Perhaps if he said "Not near the quality of the fantasies produced by Daniel Carr" that would have been acceptable (and more accurate, too.)

    Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

    I remember sellers would sometimes state, "not PCGS" or not NGC" on coins graded by third tier outfits. eBay stopped allowing it and I'd suppose using Daniel Carr's name in a listing without featuring anything by the artist might draw the same discontent.
