1958 Red Book

If you have a 1958 Red Book, could you copy the Flying eagle page and send it to me. I want to see what the prices were in 1958 for the Flying eagle cents.
Thanks

I am sure that you could get the information from the ANA library. They have at least 1 example from every year.
Looked there but couldn't find any thing that old.

Did you look in the actual library? There is one from every year in the reserve section. The Library Director, Akio Lis, can help you.
You're crushing his dream.
Well I did a " search " and it shows me a bunch of Red Books but I didn't see anything prior the 1960's. I guess I'm not as familiar with the web site as you are.

Here ya go.....
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
I'll take one each of the 1856 in uncirculated (65) and one in proof, total $985. where do I send a check? Might as well throw in one each of the 57 and both 58s , in uncirculated and proof as well. Then I'll have a complete set.
Thanks
Don't forget, my parents bought their house in 1958 for $12,990, I remember it like it was yesterday..............Heck I bought my 1st house in 1971 for $23,500.............
The good ole days
Always fun to see prices from years ago compared to today's price. We 'older' folks (
) have lived through a lot of this inflation and recall paying fifteen cents for a hamburger, a dime for a cup of coffee and $14K for a custom built house. Cheers, RickO
@Vasanti, I guess your calculator works for most day to day items, but not really applicable with this group of coins. I’ve recently purchased an1856 Flying Eagle in PCGS proof 63 cac alone, for nearly twice that inflation number.
That was my point. Inflation alone doesn’t account for price increases. Market demand for rare coins has skyrocketed since 1958.
Would love go back in time buy all I could at. Guess would need procure some circ banknotes of the era.
you got ripped off. I bought my first house in 1972, a year later, for $22,000. Such a deal! now, it will be worth in excess of $1 million. (Southern California).
If you read my " Reminiscing " story you'll understand the significance of the 1858 Flying eagle to me.

Good idea; probably couldn’t use Venmo or PayPal as the cell phone coverage would probably be lousy 😉
Btw, here are the prices from the 1959 Redbook; pretty substantial price increases:
and you only got the proof, not the uncirculated one.!
It wasn’t available!
