Hmmm all of these Unc. Key Date Buffalo Nickels have the same "look" . . . . . .

Like the look of better made but somewhat obvious Chinese fakes:

What is disappointing is they are offered by what appears to be a well-established dealer. I reported these a couple days ago but they are still up, so if a few others report them maybe they will get zapped.

What's the tell? How is it obvious? They do look very similar...and are still up.

Most of his stuff looks genuine but there are a few questionable foreign coins in there, too.

They do appear similar in wear and finish. I do not see any glaring indicators, though one would think they would be already graded. Need more inputs on these. Cheers, RickO

I think the lighting is what makes them appear so much alike. I do not see any telltale signs of counterfeit. Maybe someone with more knowledge than I will post their opinions.

Can't you see that this is the ultra-rare 1914 Type 1? That's why the Chief is wearing such a silly grin.

A very bad and stupid counterfeit.

    Book 'em, Danno!

OMG, how did I miss that. What were your ID's on the 13, it was the only one I really looked at, Pete?

I've never seen any genuine Buffalo Nickel that has the 2 ties just disappear and everything else with it.

Seems like the same problem in a different location the the 1914 "Raised Mound" has.
